About:

Laural is passionate about optimizing processes and operations to improve efficiency and quality.  She has applied these skills throughout her working life in the healthcare industry.

Her journey into the world of STEM began with childhood adventures to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, where she marveled at the ingenuity of the past. Inspired by her father's aeronautical engineering exploits, Laural soared into the world of math and science, eventually landing at the University of Michigan where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Industrial and Operations Engineering.

Laural chose to dedicate her career to the healthcare industry, where operational complexities offer countless opportunities for improvement and optimization. She began her career working at a hospital system while doing her graduate work and honed her skills as a healthcare consultant at Ernst & Young, LLC.  She has been a stalwart at Vizient, Inc. where she has worked for over 25 years with leading healthcare systems across the United States.

During her career, she’s had the opportunity to help healthcare systems by providing collaborative forums for performance improvement. Her work is focused on achieving sustained, clinical and operational improvement through structured projects and peer engagement, incorporating national benchmarking data and leading practices.

Laural is a champion of growth and mentorship, nurturing her team members, and managing post-graduate fellowship positions.  Laural stays connected with her engineering roots as a member of the Society of Women Engineers.
